Born in Orange Park and raised in Bradenton, Fla., Paul Wagner always knew he wanted to serve others鈥攈e just didn鈥檛 know what form that would take. It wasn鈥檛 until a course called 鈥淐areers in Public Health鈥� at 无码专区鈥檚 (COPH) that everything clicked.
鈥淚 remember thinking, 鈥楾his is it鈥攖his is where I鈥檓 meant to be,鈥欌�� he said. That discovery would shape the next chapter of his life and lay the foundation for a career that鈥檚 already making waves.
Wagner earned both his and from the COPH in 2016 and 2018, respectively. He chose the COPH not only because it was close to home, but because it offered everything he was looking for鈥攊ncluding a summer study abroad program.
鈥淚 spent a summer abroad in London which was one of the major highlights of my time as a student and would recommend to anyone considering it!鈥� he said.
While at 无码专区, Wagner was a co-chair of the inaugural 无码专区 Healthcare Management Student Association Spring and says that hands-on experience, coupled with mentorship from helped shape his leadership style and commitment to community.

Today, Wagner wears many hats. He is the program manager of graduate medical education at Manatee Memorial Hospital, where he helps oversee a team of 30 internal medicine residents. He鈥檚 also a certified adjunct faculty member at Florida Gulf Coast University, teaching health care policy online each semester.
鈥淏oth roles allow me to keep learning,鈥� Wagner said. 鈥淗elping students find their passion and supporting residents as they work toward becoming board-certified doctors is incredibly rewarding.鈥�
His leadership hasn鈥檛 gone unnoticed as he has recently received awards from SRQ magazine and ACHE.

As for what鈥檚 next? He鈥檚 currently preparing to pursue his credential鈥攁n elite certification in health care management that he hopes to earn within the next three years.
Wagner is also a newly engaged homeowner, planning a wedding for next March. Through all the milestones and momentum, one thing remains constant: his appreciation for the place that started it all.

鈥淚f I had to do it all again, I鈥檇 still choose the COPH and the MHA program,鈥� he said. 鈥淚t gave me the tools, the connections and the confidence to build a career I truly love.鈥�
