APHA president strives for a healthier America and quality family time

Dr. Deanna Wathington has lots of healthy ideas to share with the world, but not always enough time in a life crammed with activity. Most people would need a week to do what Wathington does in a day as she collaborates across various fields on the challenges facing health care in our communities. An affiliate professor of community and family health in ÎÞÂëרÇøâ€™s College of Public Health (COPH), she formerly served as associate dean for academic and student affairs as well as associate dean for academic enrichment at ÎÞÂëרÇøâ€™s Morsani College of Medicine.

ÎÞÂëרÇø COPH awarded $3 million grant

The COPH has been selected as a recipient of the Connecting Kids to Coverage Outreach and Enrollment Cooperative Agreement Program. ÎÞÂëרÇø joins a group of 25 grantees awarded a total of $66 million to enhance child health coverage over the next five years. ÎÞÂëרÇøâ€™s grant, totaling $3 million, will support comprehensive outreach efforts across Florida.
