HACD (Industrial-Organizational) Lab Info The Human Applied Cognition and Decision-Making lab studies psychological and physiological phenomena in teams during stressful tasks. We collected data from over 200 teams throughout a bomb simulation task over the past two years. Some of our current research projects investigate resilience, physiological synchrony, and team anxiety. Presented by: Caroline Deal, I-O Ph.D. Student PI: Dr. Michael Gillespie |
OPTIMA Lab (Industrial-Organizational) Lab Info The OPTIMA lab studies learning, motivation, affect and performance for individuals, teams, and organizational systems. We are particularly interested in process dynamics and how phenomena arising from individual interactions to the collective level (e.g., team cognition, team cohesion), how these phenomena evolve and change over time, and their implications. Presented by: David Taullahu and Stevie Boettcher, I-O Ph.D. Students PI: Drs. Steve Kozlowski and Georgia Chao |
TACTICS Lab (Industrial-Organizational) Lab Info The TACTICS lab studies teams, human-AI teams, technological adaptations in interdependent systems, and more. Using a diverse array of methods (e.g., virtual simulations, qualitative interviews, AI agent development, computational modeling), the purpose of the lab is to understand and enhance team dynamics from both a research and applied perspective. Presented by: Max Brunell, Stevie Boettcher, and David Taullahu, I-O Ph.D. Student PI: Dr. Daniel Griffin |

Cardiovascular Psychophysiology Lab (Cognition, Neuroscience, and Social) Lab Info The CVP lab investigates cardiovascular responses to stress, the psychological and social factors that moderate these responses, and how these work together to contribute to risk for cardiovascular disease. The lab has focused on various sources of stress over the years, including depression, rumination, grief, PTSD, discrimination, and sexism, examining both reactivity to and recovery from these stressors. Presented by: Susan Rodriguez and Kaiyuan Luo, CNS Ph.D. Students PI: Dr. Kristen Salomon |
